Lost in his growing mental confusion, Francisco discovers that he has been living with early-onset Alzheimer’s for decades, diagnosed at age 51. Now, at 78, during a particularly intense crisis of the disease, he sees his perception of reality fragmenting. Between memory lapses and moments of disorientation, his wife and son become his safe haven, helping him face the truth through routine, creativity, and, above all, love. The family tries to preserve what the disease insists on erasing: Francisco’s identity, affections, and dignity, a silent struggle against oblivion.

As recém mães ouvem constantemente que devem sentir-se eufóricas – tomadas por uma grande alegria com a chegada do seu filho. Mas, para Heather, nada parece mais distante da verdade. Os dias e as noites confundem-se, as rotinas básicas parecem exaustivas e o bebé com quem ela deseja criar laços chora incessantemente, sem dar espaço ao silêncio.

Heather está a desmoronar-se, mas ninguém pode saber. Com a aproximação de uma visita ao domicílio de uma profissional de saúde, ela agarra-se à esperança de que, se a conseguir superar, poderá sobreviver a mais um dia incansável. Mas quando acidentalmente tranca o filho dentro de casa poucos minutos antes da consulta, algo dentro dela quebra. 

Pela primeira vez, Heather admite a verdade… ela precisa de ajuda – e precisa agora.

Set in the early 2000s, Matrescence is a poignant drama that follows Heather, a first-time mother struggling to navigate the isolating reality of new parenthood with her newborn son, George.

New mothers are constantly told they should feel euphoric — overcome with joy at the arrival of their child. But for Heather, nothing feels further from the truth. The days and nights blur together, basic routines feel exhausting, and the baby she longs to bond with cries endlessly with no room for peace and quiet.

Heather is unraveling, but no one can know. With a home visit from a health visitor looming, she clings to the hope that if she can just get through it, she might survive another unrelenting day. But when she accidentally locks her son inside the house just minutes before the appointment, something inside her snaps. 

For the first time, Heather admits the truth… she needs help — and she needs it now.

DANIEL SCOTT trabalha como agente prisional e acredita que o seu papel é proteger a sociedade, o que, para ele, também significa proteger os homens com quem trabalha de sofrerem mais danos.

Uma carta enviada a um prisioneiro, Adam Keegan, pelo seu irmão mais novo, de quem está afastado, é intercetada pela segurança, pois viola os termos de uma ordem de proteção pública. Quando Adam descobre a carta, algo que não lhe devia ser negado, o seu humor e comportamento deterioram-se. Mais uma vez, foi-lhe negado este contacto.

Apesar dos melhores esforços de Daniel para controlar os danos, Adam suicida-se. Este incidente pesa sobre Daniel, afetando a sua própria saúde mental e o “sentido” do seu trabalho. Após um curto período de licença, ele regressa ao trabalho, demasiado cedo, e como um homem muito diferente.

A sua tolerância para com as necessidades e pedidos dos homens com quem trabalha está no nível mais baixo de sempre, e a sua resposta hipervigilante ao medo e ao risco, como resultado do suicídio que testemunhou, causa o tipo de cenários “tóxicos” que ele se tinha proposto reduzir.

Esta é uma reflexão sobre o TEPT causado pelo sistema de “justiça” fracassado, tanto para as pessoas na prisão como para os agentes penitenciários. Fazendo referência às sentenças imorais e desumanas do IPP (Imprisonment for Public Protection) e como os sistemas de poder perpetuam normas rígidas de género que causam danos. “Os corredores do poder aprisionam física e psicologicamente”.

Daniel Scott works as a prison officer, he believes his role is to protect society, which for him, also means protecting the men he works with from further harm.

A letter to a prisoner, Adam Keegan from his estranged little brother is intercepted by security as it breaks the terms of a public protection order. When Adam finds out about the letter, something he is not privy to, his mood and his behaviour spirals. He’s being denied this contact, all over again.

Despite Daniel’s best efforts of ‘damage control’, Adam takes his own life. This incident weighs heavy on Daniel, affecting his own mental health and ‘meaning’ with his job. After a short time off, he returns to work, too soon, and he returns as a very different man.

His tolerance for the needs and requests of the men he works with, is at an all time low, and his hyper vigilant response to fear and risk, as a result of the suicide he witnessed, causes the kind of ‘toxic’ scenarios he used to set out to reduce.

This is a reflection on the PTSD caused by the broken ‘justice’ system on both people in prison, and prison officers. Referencing the immoral and inhumane IPP sentences (Imprisonment for Public Protection) and how the systems of power perpetuate rigid gender norms that cause harm. “The corridors of power imprison physically and psychologically”.

Após um longo relacionamento, Christine deixa Tom pelo seu melhor amigo, Jerry. O novo casal floresce, enquanto Tom, incapaz de aceitar a separação, se afasta do mundo. Impulsionado pela dor e obcecado por um pequeno pato de uma feira, Tom entra numa espiral.

Contada em fragmentos impressionistas, o filme acompanha a sua queda e sugere um caminho para a tomada de consciência através de Christine, que personifica o Amor além do eu.

After a long relationship, Christine leaves Tom for their best friend, Jerry. The new couple flourishes while Tom, unable to accept the breakup, withdraws from the world. Driven by pain and fixated on a small duck from a fairy, he spirals.

Told in impressionistic fragments, the film tracks his descent and suggests a path toward awareness through Christine, who embodies the Love beyond the self.

Uma assaltante adolescente invade a casa de um idoso, sem esperar encontrá-lo lá. Para sua surpresa, ela interrompe-o a meio de uma tentativa de suicídio. Assustado com a presença dela, o homem faz-lhe uma proposta: ele deixa-a escapar em liberdade se ela o ajudar a terminar o que ele começou.

A teenage burglar breaks into the home of an elderly man, not expecting to find him there. To her surprise, she interrupts the man in the middle of a suicide attempt. Startled by her presence, the man makes her an offer – he will let her go free if she helps him finish what he started.
